Instagram Just Made Social Media Management a Little Easier.
As a social media manager, if a brand has ever made you archive a very good post because it “ruins the grid” or “doesn’t fit the aesthetic,” then we guess you’ll love this not-so-new Instagram update.

You spend time planning the content. The post performs well. The client loves it. Then you look at the page and realize it is sitting in the wrong place, and suddenly, that perfectly good post has to go into the archive.
Not anymore.

Here are 4 Instagram updates that will make you very happy as a social media manager.

1. You Can Finally Reorder Your Grid
We have spent years treating the Instagram grid like a puzzle. Sometimes a post goes up and suddenly the entire feed is “off.” So, you have no choice but to archive it, move things around and hope the page looks right again.

Luckily, Instagram now lets you reorder your profile grid, so you can move your posts around without deleting or archiving them.
For brands that take their aesthetics seriously, this is a big win. You can organize your campaigns, refresh your feed and make sure your best content sits exactly where you want it.

Your content can stay. Your aesthetic can stay. Everybody wins.

2. Posted the Carousel but Hate the Music? Change It.
Remember when you used to post a carousel and then you listen to the music again and realize you made a mistake. Previously, your options were pretty limited. Now, Instagram lets you change the music on a carousel after it has been posted.
So, you don’t have to delete a perfectly good post just because you suddenly realized the audio is not giving what it was supposed to give.

3. One Carousel Can Now Have Multiple Captions
You know those carousels where every slide has something different going on?

Maybe you’re showing five products, five locations or five different moments from an event. Before, you had to fit all the context into one caption.

Instagram now lets you add different captions to individual carousel slides. For brands, this means more room to explain, describe and add context without turning one Instagram caption into a full-blown article.

And honestly, more room to tell the story? We’re not complaining.

4. Your Comment Section Just Got More Visual

Community management just got easier. Someone asks, “How much is this? Well, now you can use the perfect product image to answer them compared to previous times when you were stuck typing a reply or sending them to your DMs.

With images in comments, brands can now make their comment sections more visual and interactive.
You can share product images, answer questions, add more context or simply give your audience another reason to keep engaging with your post.

5. Keep Up, Social Media Managers
Instagram is constantly changing, and keeping up with every update can sometimes feel like a full-time job on top of your actual full-time job.

But these changes are worth paying attention to because they give you more control over your content and more ways to create better experiences for your audience.
We hope this helps. See you next week for another Word of Wisdom.

You’re welcome.
